Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani on Wednesday met with a delegation of Congress members from the United States headed by Representative Darrell Edward Issa, from California.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Qatar to the US HE Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, along with several QC board members ad Qatari businessmen.
The two sides discussed means of enhancing commercial and investment relations between the two countries, and explored mutual investment opportunities and areas of cooperation between Qatari and US businessmen.
Sheikh Khalifa said the Chamber was keen to strengthen cooperation ties between businessmen in the two countries in such a way that it helps in developing the bilateral trade, which stood at QR19.5 billion ($5.4 billion) in 2020. It reached QR9.1 billion ($2.5 billion) in the first half of the current year.
He noted that US is one of Qatar’s most important trade partners.
