Six soldiers were injured and property damage was reported after an Israeli missile strike on the eastern countryside of the Syrian city of Homs, state media said late on Friday.
The state-run Syrian News Agency (SANA) cited a military source as saying that “the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression from the direction of the Al-Tanf area with rockets towards the T-4 military airport in the central region.”
The report said added that Syrian air defence had shot most of the missiles down.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that loud explosions were also heard in Bou-Kamal near the Syrian-Iraqi border, coincided with an Israeli attack on the T-4 military airport.
It added that a number of Iranian-backed militiamen were killed in the strikes on the T-4 military airport, without giving details.
