Beirut: A projectile launched by Yemen’s Houthi rebels hit an airport in Saudi Arabia and injured five people, Saudi state media reported.
On Friday evening “a hostile projectile” landed on King Abdullah Airport in Jizan, the official spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition forces fighting in Yemen, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, was cited by state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying. Thousands of civilian travellers including citizens and residents of different nationalities pass through the airport, Al-Maliki said. According to the agency, Al-Maliki said that there were five minor injuries among civilian passengers and airport employees. The Houthis have repeatedly vowed to continue cross-border attacks on neighbouring Saudi Arabia, citing the military campaign against them in Yemen. (dpa)
