As a gesture that reflects the interest of the Sudanese Ministry of Education in the Tayba Education City, which was established by Qatar Charity in Sudan, a number of the ministry’s officials, educators, and hundreds of students from Tayba schools participated in the first morning assembly at the beginning of the new academic year.
Babiker Bakheet, director of the General Administration of Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education, rang the start bell in a positive atmosphere stimulating excellent academic performance and creativity.
Addressing the students, Babiker praised the support of the Qatari people and Qatar Charity’s efforts in Sudan, thanking them for establishing the Tayba Education City.
“We will spare no effort in serving this institution because its students are the focus of our attention, so we have provided them with the best teachers,” Babiker said.
He also commended the great services provided by the Tayba Education City to orphan children and the surrounding community, and urged the students to be diligent, hoping for an outstanding academic performance that befits Tayba schools.
Dr Mona Al Faki, director of Organisations at the Ministry of Education in Khartoum State, said that a supportive educational environment was provided in the city of Tayba.
She said, “Ringing the start bell by the ministry’s officials means that we have started a school year free of challenges.”
Engineer Hassan Odeh, director of Qatar Charity’s Sudan office, pledged to harness all potentials, energies and efforts to provide an appropriate educational environment for Tayba’s students, calling for further cooperation and integration to build distinctive leaderships and competencies, who will lead their communities.
The principals of schools at the Tayba Educational City announced their readiness to make the new school year successful, as they benefited from the first operational experience during the past year.
Many students expressed their happiness at joining Tayba schools, stressing that they would do their utmost to achieve impressive results, taking advantage of the good educational environment provided to them.
In Sudan, Qatar Charity opened the Tayba Education City, which is the largest of its kind, in June this year. The 9,000sqm Taiba Education City is a model project of Qatar Charity in the country and consists of several facilities, such as a foundation school, a secondary school, a laboratory, a library and a computer lab, offices and a health centre that provides medical services for students and poor residents from surrounding villages.
The city also has various administrative facilities, dining and activity halls, sports facilities and a dormitory for 500 orphans.
