Under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari inaugurated the 17th edition of Project Qatar 2021 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) on Monday.
The four-day International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition will go on until Thursday.
After the inauguration ceremony, the minister visited various pavilions and viewed the services and products offered by the exhibitors.
Kuwari stressed the importance of Project Qatar 2021 in shedding light on the growth witnessed by major development projects being implemented as part of Qatar’s national vision QNV 2030 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The exhibition provides an important platform that brings together major international companies and institutions involved in the construction sector, he said, adding that the event provided an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies, specialized equipment, and the best international practices in this field. Moreover, it offers an opportunity to form fruitful partnerships and new business alliances that add value to the local market, as well as contribute to enhancing the investment environment in Qatar, Kuwari further said.
The 17th edition of Project Qatar features more than 150 local and international exhibitors specialised in the field of construction.
The exhibition also includes special events and product display areas, including the Future of Construction Sector in Qatar conference, the wholesale market, and a series of workshops and professional training courses.
The exhibition aims to highlight the products and services provided in the construction sector, including electrical equipment; construction systems and technology; engineering and design services; as well as building materials such as marble, pipes, steel products, ceramics, and granite.
