At least 15 people, including two children, were killed and more than 13 others wounded after a suicide bomb attack in the capital of Somalia.
The attack took place just metres away from the presidential palace, police spokesperson Ali Hassan told dpa.
“We have confirmed that 15 people, including three security forces are dead. The death toll includes the bomber,” the spokesperson said.
The Islamist terrorist militia Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack on its radio station Andalus.
Most of the victims were civilians, according to the police.
Al-Shabaab has been fighting for dominance in the country on the Horn of Africa for years, controlling large parts of the south and the centre and repeatedly carrying out attacks on security forces and civilians.
