HH the Amir Cup final at the newly built Al Thumama Stadium between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan on October 22 at 7 pm will underline Qatar’s readiness and preparedness for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2022, according to the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC). SC on Tuesday announced the readiness of Al Thumama Stadium (the sixth World Cup 2022 stadium) to host the final of HH the Amir Cup. Director of Marketing & Communications of QFA Khalid Al Kuwari congratulated both the teams on making the final and called on all fans to be a part of the great occasion. “We hope all Qatari fans as well as the supporters of Al Sadd and Al Rayyan will come to watch the final in this beautiful stadium on October 22. It will be a great occasion for all who will be a part of it. Of course all the medical protocols will be strictly followed for the safety and benefit of one and all,” he said.
On the completion of Al Thumama Stadium, he said: “It is the sixth stadium after Khalifa International, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Education City, Al Janoub and Al Bayt to be ready. It will also send a message to the world about the readiness of Qatar for FIFA World Cup 2022. Inshaallah, the other two remaining stadiums, which are also almost ready, shall be opened soon. —Vinay Nayudu page 12
