Paris Around 3,000 health sector workers in France have been temporarily suspended from their jobs for not meeting Wednesday’s deadline for being fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, Health Minister Olivier Veran announced on Thursday.
“Everyone who works with vulnerable people in clinics or care homes has now been vaccinated,” Veran stressed in a TV interview, saying that there had been only a few dozen dismissals of workers who had challenged the compulsory vaccination requirement. About 2.7 million people in France must now be vaccinated to continue in their jobs, mainly in the health sector and the emergency services. Those who have only received one vaccine dose so far must also present a daily negative test at work until they are fully vaccinated. (dpa)
