Qatar Charity (QC) distributed drinking water to some 1,000 workers at their work sites, in cooperation with a local initiative launched by a student, Khaled Al-Buainain.
Fatima Al Mohannadi, director of Programmes and Community Development Department at QC, expressed her happiness at participating with youth initiatives in humanitarian work and praised the idea as it focused on one of the important segments that work in construction projects and contribute to the development of infrastructure.
She also praised the youth initiatives that provided voluntary humanitarian and community work.
For his part, Khaled Al-Buainain, the owner of the initiative, thanked QC for welcoming the initiative and cooperating in its implementation of the project and the Lusail Mineral Water Factory for its support and sponsorship.
He said: “The idea was based on the values of solidarity and compassion that our religion urges. The workers were working on construction under the high temperatures, so I thought that I would distribute cold water to them during their work.”
He expressed his wish to continue the initiative during the coming summer seasons also and receive cooperation from various sectors to alleviate the suffering of the target segments.
