MES Indian School (MESIS), Abu Hamour branch, has launched the first school radio station in Qatar. MESIS Radio Station 2.0, “where education meets entertainment”, will broadcast a wide variety of edutainment programmes like quiz, interviews, music, current affairs, speeches, birthday wishes and thought for the day.
President of the school’s Governing Board Abdul Karim inaugurated the radio station. The distinct idea is the brain child of Principal Dr Mohammed Haneef. With the support of the school management, the radio station aims at boosting spoken and extempore skills of the MESIS students.
The function was attended by RJ Shifin and RJ Vini from Radio Malayalam 96.8 FM. Both the RJ’s were impressed by the setting of the school radio station. They stressed how this would help boost the learners’ confidence and communication skills.
The school RJs Shama and Falaq expressed gratitude and happiness at being the first junior RJs in the city.
They promised the principal and the management that they will carry forward the school’s mission with confidence and pride. The mentors of the junior RJs, Zeba Adam and Zeniya Azeem, were honoured and applauded by the guests.
