Qatar’s COVID-19 vaccination programme has achieved a major milestone, as almost 90 percent of the eligible population (12 years and above) have now been fully vaccinated.
According to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), a total of 4,578,600 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered till date. As many as 2,426 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours alone.
With this, the MoPH said, 89.9 percent of the eligible population have received both the doses of the vaccine and 95.5 percent received at least one dose of the vaccine.
“78.1 percent of the total population have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 83.1 percent of the total population have received at least one dose of the vaccine,” the MoPH said.
Meanwhile, Qatar on Saturday recorded 147 new COVID-19 cases — 112 from within the community and 35 among travellers returning from abroad.
Also, 197 people recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 231,922 in the country.
