A Qatari plane carrying humanitarian aid provided by the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity arrived at Kabul International Airport, Afghanistan, on Saturday.
The aid included 17 tonnes of medical aid and basic foodstuffs such as rice, sugar, salt, flour and infant formula. The plane was received by Ambassador of Qatar to Afghanistan HE Saeed bin Mubarak Al Khayareen.
The ambassador also attended the launch of the first domestic civil flight out of a total of two flights from Kabul to Kandahar and Mazar-i-Sharif after the recent events. He said a Qatari technical team was able to reopen Kabul International Airport to receive aid and humanitarian flights, and that the airport will be ready for international civil flights soon.
