Commercial Bank, the leading digital bank in Qatar, on Wednesday announced the launch of its latest awareness campaign #CBsafe Week from August 15 to August 22, 2021, on all its social media channels (@cbqat).
The campaign aims at raising public awareness and helps customers learn how to detect and protect themselves from fraud attempts and cybercrimes.
The campaign is part of Commercial Bank’s commitment and ongoing initiatives to remind customers of the highly deceptive tactics fraudsters employ to steal personal information and money.
The message of the campaign revolves around the catchy and memorable slogan ‘Check. Stop. Report’. It offers tips on how to identify scam attempts and how to respond to them. Tips also include urging people to never share their passwords and never respond to vishing calls.
In addition to this campaign, the bank conducts regular email and SMS campaigns to help customers recognize fraud and online scams. Useful tips on safeguarding personal information and safe banking practices are prominently displayed on the bank’s website. Frequent pop-up reminders on different topics, such as how to recognize new phishing and vishing attempts, can also be seen on the bank’s digital platforms, such as the CBQ Mobile App.
In line with its constant efforts to protect customers from fraud and cybercrime, Commercial Bank also introduced CB Direct Notifications, which are interactive live alerts sent from Commercial Bank directly to the customer’s mobile. CB Direct Notifications are a fast and secure way to confirm the customer’s identity in case of suspicious or unusual activity during a transaction. The customer will receive a CB Direct Notification in real-time and the transaction is temporarily paused until the customer clicks ‘Yes’ to confirm their identity and complete the transaction.
