Berlin The 45th meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee will take place in Russia on June 19-30, 2022.
At next year’s conference in Kazan, there should be a decision regarding the nomination of the Old Synagogue and the Medieval Mikveh in Erfurt, Germany, among other things, the German UNESCO commission said at the end of the 44th session of the committee on Saturday in Fuzhou.
The UNESCO committee declared 34 sites on four continents as World Heritage Site at this year’s meeting, which was partly conducted online.
Among them were five applications from Germany or with German participation, including the great spa towns of Europe and stretches of the former Roman empire’s border. The current session’s inscriptions brought the number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites to 1,154. (dpa)
