Kabul: At least 20 people were killed in two traffic accidents in the past 12 hours in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Laghman, officials said on Saturday.
The incidents occurred in the Qarghahi district of the province when vehicles collided with each other, provincial governor spokesman Asadullah Dawlatzai said. The first accident, late on Friday, was a collision between a minibus and a car. Eight passengers were killed and 10 others were wounded, Dawlatzai added.
In the second incident, on Saturday, three cars collided, leaving 12 people dead and eight more wounded, according to the spokesman. Women and children were among the victims of the incidents. (dpa)
