Ghana’s Embassy in Doha and the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) are in advanced talks to host a Ghana cultural festival and art exhibition in Qatar, Ghana’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr Emmanuel Enos has said.
The ambassador was speaking following a meeting with Katara’s General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, to discuss the advancement of the cultural agenda for this year.
In a tweet posted on Katara’s Twitter handle, the ambassador highlighted the growth in Ghana-Qatar bilateral relations.
“Since the establishment of the Embassy of Ghana in Qatar in 2018, the relations between the two countries have been moving to higher levels year after year,” he noted.
The ambassador added, “I have come to see Dr Khalid in advancement of the cultural agenda we have for this year. Hopefully, the Ghana Embassy, in collaboration with Dr Khalid [Katara], will be hosting exhibitions and a cultural festival from October to November [this year].”
“Sky is the limit and we believe we have a lot to share and a lot in common in Qatar-Ghana relations. At present, Qatar Airways is flying to Ghana and we hope this is going to boost not only cultural relations, but investments in terms of people to people relations, tourism, and all levels of our cooperation,” HE Enos added.
Katara Cultural Village is Qatar’s largest and most multifaceted cultural project. It is a gathering place where people from all over the world come to learn about and experience different cultures. Katara aspires to be a world leader in multi-cultural activities, with beautiful theaters, concert halls, exhibition galleries, and cutting-edge facilities.
In accordance with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, Katara serves as a guardian of Qatar’s heritage and traditions, and strives to raise awareness about the value of all cultures and civilizations.
