Almost 79.1 percent of the eligible population has now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
In a statement, the MoPH said as many as 5,730 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total doses given in Qatar since the start of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme to 3,642,002.
The MoPH said 67 percent of the population – 16 years and over – have been fully vaccinated so far.
“98.6 percent of people over 60 — the most vulnerable population group — have been vaccinated with at least one dose, while 93.5 percent have received both the doses,” the MoPH said.
About 96 percent of people over 40 have been vaccinated with at least one dose, while 86 percent have received both the doses, the MoPH added.
Meanwhile, Qatar on Saturday reported 124 new COVID-19 cases — 76 among community and 48 among travellers.
Also, 112 people recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in Qatar to 222,839.
