Bayanihan Qatar, a federation of more than 20 Filipino community groups, led a beach clean-up activity at Simaisma beach recently.
The event, attended by about 176 people, was organised in collaboration with its member groups GRRI, KBBP and The Filipino Community (TFC).
“The beach clean-up drive was our way of thanking Qatar as our second home and giving back to the community. It also served as a team building activity for us. We look forward to hosting beach clean-up activities monthly to continue our efforts in raising awareness of the public on the importance of caring for our environment,” said Eng Jerry Ronquillo, Bayanihan Qatar president.
Other community groups that supported the initiative included Bayanihan ng mga Manggagawa sa Konstruksyon ng Qatar (BMKQ), Buklod ng Bayanihang Filipino sa Qatar (BBFQ), Bantay at Kasangga ng OFW International Inc, GABII, TSQ, AGWI, TKSQ, Filipino Institute, GSSI, Advocate, GP OFW, RUGBII MODG Matapat, TGBI-TO and TSDQ.
