A total of 451,931 transactions were made by government entities via e-Payment Gateway during second quarter (Q2) of 2021, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC).
As per the data, April and May saw 136,072 online transactions each while 179,787 transactions were conducted in June.
The e-Payment Gateway provides online payment options for government entities seeking to develop their digital services, which enable full automation of online services, by allowing users to pay their transaction fees online securely.
The number of transactions by government entities via e-Payment Gateway during first quarter of 2021 was 582,108. In January 2021, a total 151,691 transactions were made while 159,832 and 270,585 transactions were made in February and March, respectively.
The e-Payment Platform service provides the following payment methods and features:
? Credit card payment, using MasterCard, Visa Card and American Express
? Account-to-account payment: Instant discount to users who have accounts at the Qatar National Bank
? Online refunds
? Inquiry Service: It allows government entities to add a feature to their digital services that allows inquiring about payment status by transaction number or date.
