Qatar’s leading ICT provider has been named Microsoft Qatar Partner of the Year 2021.
Microsoft made the announcement about Ooredoo’s award on July 8, 2021. The company was recognised among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in the development and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.
The Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for 2021 recognises country-level partners who have seen significant growth in their customer base and/or revenue by driving customer impact and satisfaction with Microsoft Cloud offerings. Partners nominated for this award demonstrated effective Microsoft engagement; innovation, competitive differentiation, and customer value resulting in a profitable business that showcases the benefits of using Microsoft Cloud services; and capability in driving Microsoft’s Cloud offerings with Gold level Cloud Competency. Partners must also have demonstrated their commitment/alignment to Microsoft in one or more of the Solution Areas: Modern Work and Security, Business Applications and/or Azure.
The awards were divided into categories, with winners chosen from a pool of over 4,400 nominations submitted from more than 100 countries around the world.
Ooredoo’s nomination was primarily based on the successful design and implementation of the TASMU Platform, which serves as the central foundation for the Smart Qatar (TASMU) Program. TASMU’s unique proposition is placed at the heart of the Qatar digital ecosystem thanks to the Ooredoo-Microsoft collaboration; from launching the platform in record time to targeting diverse sectors and use-cases on a national level, the platform’s achieved and projected success remains a true indicator of the colossal potential unlocked through the aligned efforts of Ooredoo and Microsoft.
Ooredoo’s collaboration with Microsoft has also had a significant impact on many other areas of its business, including the Microsoft Azure Data Centre in Qatar, which Ooredoo built; the ongoing Data Centre migration assessment for large enterprises and government organisations; major deals on Microsoft ExpressRoute (the Ooredoo Cloud Connect service); and significant sales of Microsoft 365 in the small business market.
Thani Al Malki, Executive Director Business at Ooredoo, said: “I am delighted and proud that Ooredoo has been recognised by Microsoft as Partner of The Year 2021 for Qatar. With innovation at the heart of our strategy, and our goal of achieving digital transformation, creating and developing such alignments is key to our success and key to delivering the best products and services for our customers. We look forward to many more years of aligning efforts with Microsoft, for the benefit of both parties and for the ongoing development of Qatar.”
Lana Khalaf, General Manager of Microsoft in Qatar, congratulated Ooredoo on winning the Microsoft Partner of the Year award.: “We are pleased to present this prestigious award to Ooredoo, one of our long-standing partners with a deep level of cloud expertise and experience.
