DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga virtually. A three-day intensive yoga training programme was held for teachers of the DPS-MIS as part of the event.
The celebration aimed to educate students and parents about the benefits of yoga which enhances physical and mental health during this tough pandemic period.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers and students. Students of Nursery and Preparatory sections were invited to the online celebration. Students of grade IX also participated in the event.
A few ‘asanas’, suggested in the Common Yoga Protocol by the Government of India, were demonstrated by PE teachers, while the attendees, following the instructions, performed them. A PowerPoint presentation highlighting the importance of yoga in the daily life and its role in maintaining a perfect equilibrium between the body and mind was also shown. A total of six sessions were conducted and around 900 students and 30 teachers participated in them. (TNN)
