Alwadi MGallery Doha has achieved the honourary Green Key Award for its relentless effort and commitment to sustainability and green hospitality. The hotel expressed its delighted to be part of the ‘Qatar Green Building Council’.
Alwadi Hotel MGallery General Manager Hani Akkari said sustainability and environmental performance are key pillars for Accor Hotels.
“This certification required a determined dedication from our team, which has demonstrated our commitment to what Accor calls ‘Positive Hospitality’,” Akkari said. “This commitment is embedded in everything we do at Alwadi Hotel MGallery, while supporting Qatar’s sustainability goals that are a key part of the Qatar National Vision 2030. We also uphold the values of Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project.”
“Obtaining Green Key demonstrates the establishment’s efforts to develop an environmentally friendly, sustainable and responsible business. We are delighted to continue the cooperation with Green Key through this global agreement and look forward to continuing to deliver sustainable luxury,” he added.
Green Key is the world’s leading eco-label for hotels and other tourism facilities with around 3,000 awarded establishments in almost 60 countries around the world. The Green Key award is based on compliance with a strict set of environmental management criteria, environmental awareness-raising and social responsibility. The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) recognises Green Key’s criteria for hotels.
