Bangkok: Singapore again postponed a planned “travel bubble” with Hong Kong, Singapore’s Transport Ministry said on Thursday, as the government announced domestic curbs would be relaxed from Monday.
The ministry said that it “remains strongly committed” to the plan to allow quarantine-free travel between the two city states and “would review the situation in early July.” The plan, first mooted late last year, was due to begin on May 26 but had already been deferred once.
Despite flights quickly selling out, the Asian finance hubs opted postpone the plan again after Singapore saw a slight rise in infection figures.
Singapore reimposed some domestic restrictions in response to the rise, banning dining at restaurants and capping event attendances at 100. (dpa)
