Qatari middle-distance runner Abdulrahman Saeed Hassan qualified for the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020) after achieving a time of 3: 34.24 in the 1500m finishing second at the Nirtha Challenge Championships in Malaga, Spain.
Abdulrahman Saeed joined the list of Al Adaam champions, most notably Mutaz Barshim in high jump, Abdurrahman Samba in 400m hurdles, Ashraf Al Saifi in hammer throw, Abu Bakr Haidar in 800m, and Musab Adam in 1500m.
Executive Director of the Qatar Athletics Federation Khalid Rashid Al Marri congratulated Abdulrahman Saeed on obtaining the qualifying card for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, indicating that there is a great opportunity to increase the number of qualifiers from the national team to the Olympiad during their participation in the Doha Round of the Wanda Diamond League which will be held on May 28 at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar Sports Club.
