The daily COVID-19 infections fell below 600 for the first time in over 40 days on Thursday.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Thursday reported 593 COVID-19 cases — 389 from community and 204 from travellers returning from abroad.
Qatar recorded 602 cases on March 26 and 587 cases on March 25.
Also, 1,321 people recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in Qatar to 198,277.
Sadly, four people aged 49, 63, 68 and 73 years succumbed to the virus. Three of them had a history of chronic diseases, the MoPH said.
As per the vaccination programme, as many as 30,557 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 1,732,471.
“Almost 47.7 percent of the eligible population has now received at least one dose of the vaccine,” the MoPH said. About 87 percent of people over 60 (the most vulnerable population group) have been vaccinated with at least one dose, while 78.4 percent have received both doses, it added.
