The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced that 25 contestants have qualified for the semi-final phase of the 4th Katara Prize for Qur’an Recitation 2021.
The winners in this phase will compete for the first five places that will be announced in the final show scheduled to be broadcast on Qatar TV at the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The fourth edition of the Katara Prize for Qur’an Recitation saw a greater turnout of 2,004 participants from 18 Arab countries and 44 non-Arab countries under the official sponsorship of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. This edition of the prize is being held as part of the activities of Doha, Capital of Islamic Culture for 2021.
The nomination for the award in its fourth session was opened between October 1, 2019 and January 31, 2020.
The value of the allocated prizes is QR1.5 million. The first prize winner will receive cash prize worth QR500,000 while the second and third places winners will go home with cash prizes of QR400,000 and QR300,000, respectively. Winners of the fourth and fifth positions will get QR200,000 and QR100,000, respectively.
