Birla Public School (BPS) celebrated May Day, virtually, on May 2, to pay tributes to the common workforce which is at the foundation of a society’s development. To commemorate the value of labour, to show solidarity with working people and to instill gratitude for labour among the young generation, all the sections celebrated May Day.
Kindergarten celebrated May Day as ‘Dignity of Labour’. This helped to develop a sense of importance for all the people who build our community by contributing their best efforts to save lives, build homes, keep our surroundings clean, ply us to school, educate and to make sure commodities reach us on time.
During the virtual interactive session, the teachers enlightened the students that irrespective of their job, each worker needs to be appreciated and respected for their selfless work.
Grade I and II students celebrated this significant day by encouraging the students to perform any house chores which can assist people around them.
Special virtual assembly was conducted by Grade III to V to honour the hard work put in by the support staff of the school.
The Department of Social Science took the initiative to celebrate International Labour Day. Various competitions were held in Grades VI –VIII, including cosplay.
