Six months ago, Crowell & Moring launched an office in Qatar with the vision of serving the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region from Doha. The global firm chose to open an office in Doha during the peak of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The firm maintains a team of more than a dozen legal professionals, including award-winning lawyers, who individually have decades of legal experience, making it one of the largest international law firms in Qatar.
“The decision to invest in Qatar has proven to be incredibly rewarding,” said Charbel M. Maakaron, Managing Partner of Crowell & Moring’s Doha office.
“If the past months are indicative of our performance, we cannot be more excited about the future,” he added.
During this time, the firm has built relationships with more than 100 clients ranging from “innovative start-ups to large multinationals,” he said.
“Doha offers a trio of strengths. Significant investments for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, an ultra-modern infrastructure, and a world-class airline make this an excellent location for conducting business in the region,” added Maakaron.
Founded over 40 years ago with a commitment to build a different kind of law firm, Crowell & Moring LLP today is an international law firm representing clients in litigation and arbitration, regulatory and transactional matters. With approximately 600 lawyers based in the United States, Europe, Middle East, and Asia, the firm helps international corporations and emerging enterprises navigate complex legal challenges and create business solutions across the globe.
With a substantial track record handling large infrastructure projects across the globe, Crowell & Moring is well-positioned to advise clients on how best to invest and capitalize on the strategic priorities and business opportunities outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Many of the firm’s clients include Fortune 100 companies, Qatari government entities and private sector organizations, from a variety of industries including infrastructure, corporate, education and banking to name a few.
