The Shura Council, at a meeting chaired by the Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud on Monday, reviewed the works of a number of its permanent committees and learned about their efforts in studying draft laws
referred to them by the Council to prepare and submit their reports.
The Shura speaker stressed the important role that these committees play in the careful and in-depth study of draft laws that the government refers to the council and in preparing comprehensive reports on these draft laws, with specific and useful recommendations whenever necessary, in addition to the role of these committees in preparing reports on requests for general discussion and suggestions submitted by the members to the council that cover various service, economic, social and cultural fields.
The rapporteurs of the relevant committees spoke at the session, clarifying the progress of work in studying draft laws and the topics referred to the committees, and confirming keenness to complete the committees’ tasks and submit their reports to the council as soon as possible, based on the council’s keenness to keep pace with the rapid pace of the legislative development in the country.
Meanwhile, during a meeting on Monday, the Shura Council’s Services and Public Utilities Committee chaired by its Rapporteur HE Mohammed bin Mahdi Al Ahbabi discussed the briefing by President of Planning and Statistics Authority Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit on the state’s efforts regarding the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the challenges it faces.
The committee decided to complete the study of the subject at its next meeting.
On its part, the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Shura Council under its Rapporteur HE Nasser bin Rashid bin Saree Al Kaabi studied a draft law on establishing an investment and trade court, and decided to submit its recommendations to the Shura Council.
