Imola (Italy)
Formula One driver Mick Schumacher takes to one of his father’s favourite tracks this weekend and hopes to show an improvement from his debut.
The German Haas driver, son of F1 icon Michael, races in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Italy on an Imola track where Michael won a record seven times.
He finished a creditable 16th in the modest Haas on his F1 debut three weeks ago in Bahrain.
His aim this weekend is “to keep learning, to keep trying to improve,” the 22-year-old told reporters on Thursday. “I was as happy as I could be,” he added when looking back at Bahrain.
He likes the 4.909-kilometre Imola circuit near Bologna because of the flowing sequence of its corners.
“I would love to drive all day,” he said.
