Mowasalat (Karwa), Qatar’s National Transport Provider, will once again distribute free Karwa SmartCards during Ramadan as part of its social responsibility activities in collaboration with Qatar Charity (QC).
The free bus transportation cards will be distributed to employees in conjunction with Qatar Charity’s distribution of iftar meals during the holy month. Nasser Mamdouh M. Al Shammari, Mowasalat (Karwa) Operations Manager - Light Transport Services, handed over the rechargeable tickets to Ahmed Omar Al Sherawi, head of Qatar Charity’s Relations and Social Responsibility section.
Ahmed Omar Al Sherawi, head of Qatar Charity’s Relations and Social Responsibility section, expressed his pride in the organisation’s fruitful and ongoing partnership and cooperation with Mowasalat, which has provided free Karwa SmartCards to workers who use public transportation the most in the country. Sherawi thanked the company for their assistance, which he described as a humanitarian gesture that helps labourers share the joy of Ramadan while also expressing gratitude for their contributions to the construction of the State of Qatar. According to Sherawi, Qatar Charity is eager to collaborate with institutions and businesses that want to implement humanitarian initiatives for the benefit of the community as part of their societal responsibility.
Mowasalat CEO Fahad Saad Al Qahtani said, “Building community through transportation is the driving factor in all of the company’s social responsibility activities and it is a logical step to support the most frequent users of our public bus network. Aside from such social engagement, we also work with various ministries and governmental organisations to promote road and traffic safety through workshops, lectures,and trainings. Our ultimate responsibility is to leave a legacy of safe and environmentally friendly transportation infrastructure for future generations.”
