The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced the addition of new services to the distributors’ supply program via its supply services platform, which is accessible on its website.
This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to continue its digital transformation and electronic service development, as well as to meet the needs of distributors and enable them to complete their transactions electronically without having to refer back to the Ministry’s Supply and Strategic Inventory Department.
Smart Card Reader System application, distributor license renewal, and distributor information updating are among the e-services added to the distributor supply program.
The Smart Card Reader System application includes services such as: dispensing supplies via the distributor’s computer using the ration card; providing a daily report of distributors’ sales (showing distributors’ daily sales and sold quantities); providing a report of unsold quantities (showing remaining quantities in distributors’ inventories and outlets); and dispensing materials via the mobile application.
The Smart Card Reader System application also includes a user management service, which enables the distributor to create a user account on the program’s system, albeit with limited competencies and in accordance with food supply services. It also includes a service to cancel the purchase process, which allows the purchase process to be canceled within two hours of its start. The distributor has the right to cancel the purchase of food supplies and fodder if an error occurs during the process, such as dispensing oil instead of milk or ordering a quantity that is less or greater than what is required.
Furthermore, the Smart Card Reader System reports on materials purchased by the distributor but not received from the Ministry’s inventories. It also provides a report on sales made via the mobile application but not received (shows the quantities purchased via the mobile application but not received from the distributor’s outlet). The distributor’s license renewal service includes renewing the annual license for the sale of food and fodder supplies one month before the license expires and upon approval of the application by the concerned department.
The distributor info update service allows the program to update the commercial registry and license information, as well as attach a copy of the required documents. The user can also change the manager-in-charge or update his contact information (email address, phone number).
Previously, MoCI added a number of new e-services to the electronic supply services program. The initiative in question included nine new services, which were divided into three categories: issuance services, modification and update services, and distributor services.
This step follows the previously introduced services of viewing the list of approved distributors, changing the Tamween (supply) card password, and services related to Tamween card information, such as data, the register of supply disbursement, and the monthly allowance. As a result, the total number of supply e-services provided by the Ministry has increased to approximately 24 services.
