Burhan praises Qatar’s support for Sudan Apr 09, 2021 0 2075 12345 Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan Lt Gen Abdel Fattah Al Burhan appreciated Qatar standing with his country throughout in the past, especially during the floods and coronavirus pandemic. He praised the positions taken by HH the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in support of his country, including his call at the United Nations to remove Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism.In a press conference on Thursday, Al Burhan expressed his gratitude to Qatar for its interest in the Sudanese issue, its cooperation and constant communication, and its relentless endeavour to establish peace, as Sudan, with Qatar’s participation, was able to sign a peace agreement in Juba.He said Qatar also participated in the process of change and completed the triangle of partnership with the Sudanese forces that ushered in the change and is now supporting it. It also played a key role in Darfur peace previously and it has some ongoing projects there.On the agreement on specific mechanisms to strengthen partnership, Al Burhan said the two countries have mechanisms already in place and cooperation in various fields.
