Several new measures have been put in place to improve the entry and waiting process for patients wanting to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the National Vaccination Center, which is located at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), the Ministry of Public Health has announced.
A working team was formed, with participation from several authorities, to study and evaluate the arrival and waiting mechanism with the objective of providing greater levels of safety and comfort for everyone at the centre and it was agreed to open the corridors of the ground floor for the public’s entry, with separate waiting areas for men and women to ensure privacy and comfort.
Additionally, in order to avoid exposure to the high outdoor temperatures and provide a safe waiting area for all, the centre’s main parking spots are now being utilised as a point of arrival at the vaccination centre.
Authorities taking part in the development and implementation of the new measures include Hamad Medical Corporation, the Primary Health Care Corporation, the Ministry of Interior, Al Fazaa, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, QNCC and Qatar Red Crescent.
This development is part of a continuous effort to ensure the safety and security of those wishing to receive the vaccine, especially with the expansion of the groups eligible for vaccination, and is designed to protect the general public, the medical and administrative staff, and the organisers working at the vaccination centre.
Given the increasing demand for vaccination at the centre, the new arrangements have been established in coordination with the efforts of the Ministry of Public Health to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
