Al Rayyan ralled from being a set down to prevail over Al Arabi 3-2 in the thrilling final to win His Highness The Amir Cup Volleyball Cup at the Qatar Volleyball Association’s (QVA) Hall on Wednesday.
The winners were crowned by Qatar Olympic Committee’s (QOC) First Vice-President Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al Thani in the presence of Qatar Volleyball Association President Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari and other officials.
Al Rayyan defeated Al Arabi 27-29, 25-18, 28-26, 23-25, 15-11. Abo Naboot Belal Nabil was the highest scorer for the winners with 25 points while Costa Marcus Vinicius scored 20, and Boyer garnered 15 points.
For Al Arabi, Ribeiro Renan scored 24 points and Ibrahim Ibrahim Moha 17.
Al Rayyan had made it to the final with a dominant 2-0 lead over Al Ahli in the best of three semi-finals, while Al Arabi reached the final after overcoming Police SC in a similar manner.
