Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications operator, has sponsored the recent Virtual Education Forum hosted by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The forum was held on April 3, under the slogan ‘Visions and Aspirations Beyond Challenges’.
Education experts and academics from around the world linked together – virtually – to share insights, host workshops and more. Virtual technology was used for the first time in Qatar to facilitate the event. The simulation featured a large virtual building, with 30 different workshop areas hosting the speakers, who presented on a range of topics related to education.
Ooredoo hosted a virtual booth at the event, with its customer service agents ready online to showcase Ooredoo products and services and interact with attendees via text, voice and video chat.
Products, services and solutions being demonstrated at the event included SafeToNet, a new online safety technical solution, offered in collaboration with British company SafeToNet - designed to help protect children and young people from harm online.
Another education-focused service being highlighted was Mozaik Education Solution, a system that integrates its digital tools with existing learning provision to enhance in-class and distance learning.
Attendees were also able to explore the benefits of Business Mobile Broadband 5G and Microsoft Azure Managed Services, which provide cloud storage, daily operational support, virtual network infrastructure and advanced services in Azure Public Cloud, as well as advisory services.
Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, chief commercial officer, Ooredoo, said: “We were proud to sponsor this initiative with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Promoting education for all is a key part of our corporate responsibility strategy, aligned with our commitment to the United Nations Sustainability Goals. With the recent pandemic situation presenting several challenges in the education sector, highlighting areas in which we can work to improve both access to education and education itself, we are delighted to be involved in efforts to enhance the sector going forward.” (TNN)
