Kaabi discusses energy, climate change with COP26 president

Minister of State for Energy Affairs His Excellency Saad Sherida Al Kaabi met with UN COP26 Climate Summit President Alok Sharma in Doha on Sunday. Discussions during the meeting dealt with the role played by Qatar’s energy sector in addressing climate change. This includes Qatar Petroleum’s recently announced Sustainability Strategy, which is aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement, aiming to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, and deploying dedicated Carbon Capture and Storage facilities to capture more than 7 million tonnes per annum of CO 2 in Qatar.
