The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) and the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) of India along with the Indian Embassy in Qatar recently organised a webinar on India-Qatar trade in engineering products.
Ambassador of India to Qatar HE Deepak Mittal, in his key note address, highlighted the major projects executed by Indian engineering companies in Qatar and the contributions of the large community of Indian engineers in various sectors. He also identified potential areas of collaboration between Qatari and Indian companies in the engineering manufacturing sector.
The webinar was initiated by Angeline Premalatha, Counsellor Political and Commerce at the Embassy of India. The welcome address was delivered by IBPC President Azim Abbas and the event was coordinated by Rajjat and Pallavi of EEPC. IBPC Head of Corporate Affairs Nishad Azeem hosted the power-packed
webinar.
The webinar had representation of high level delegates from the government of Qatar, government of India and industry experts with presentations by EEPC India Chairman Mahesh Desai, EEPC India Joint Secretary Department of Commerce Srikar Reddy, EEPC India Director Exhibitions Gurvinder Singh, Ashghal Technical Manager Ahmed Al Ansari, Qatar Free Zone Authority Senior Associate Business Development Baer Al Madhadi, Kahramaa Manager Electricity Projects Mohammed Al Dosari, QDC Executive Director Subrato Mukherjee, Oil and Gas industry expert Suresh Ramanunjan, L&T Country Head Dhanapal, Qatar International Electrical Company Managing Director Syed Arif Mahdi and EEPC Trade with GCC Committee Chairman Mukul Khandelwal.
The key points highlighted by the speakers in the webinar were establishment of Qatar Investment office in India to facilitate direct investments, starting of direct shipping lines between India and Qatar, opportunities for collaboration in manufacturing of medical equipment and engineering products, incentives for setting up manufacturing facility at Qatar Free Zone and procedures for product entry to Qatar market.
In addition opportunities for engineering products in Ashghal, Kahramaa and Oil and Gas projects were discussed.
