Amiri Guard concluded the activities of the Barzan joint exercise (8), which lasted for two weeks, with the participation of the military, security and civil authorities in the country, in the presence of Commander of the Amiri Guard HE Major-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of the Lekhwiya Force HE Major-General Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Thani.
The conclusion of the exercise that was held at the Lahsaniya camp, was also attended by the deputy commander of the Amiri Guard, the inspector-general, the assistants of the commander of the Amiri Guard, leaders of departments and groups, and a number of senior officers of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the “Lekhwiya” Force in addition to a number of officials in ministries and government agencies.
The exercise was designed to simulate the duties and tasks that the Amiri Guard will do in coordination with the military, security and civil authorities in the country during the 2022 FIFA World Cup and how to deal with potential events.
Assistant Commander of the Guard for Operations and Training Colonel Jassim Abdullah Al Marizeeq said that Barzan joint exercise (8) focused on raising the efficiency of the members of the Amiri Guard and the participating bodies in dealing with various events related to the security and protection of VIPs during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is considered the largest sporting event in the world.
He praised the distinguished level shown by all the participants in the closing presentation, which embodied their competence, readiness and high fighting spirit, pointing out that the exercise was carried out in a number of regions of the country.
In his speech, Director of the Barzan Joint Exercise (8) Lieutenat-Colonel Mubarak Mushay Al Ahbabi said the exercise comes as an extension of a series of exercises that initiate joint coordination between the Amiri Guard and the concerned authorities in the state to deal with the challenges facing the security and protection of VIPs during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He said the exercise was designed to simulate various possible events, as it was implemented in simultaneous stages aimed at identifying the skill of officers and members of the Amiri Guard in mastering the practice of joint work with all agencies in the state.
