The Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on Wednesday, took the necessary measures to issue a draft law on endowment after reviewing the recommendation of the Shura Council.
The draft law is being prepared to replace Law No. 8 of 1996 on endowment and comes in the framework of updating legislation to keep pace with developments in this regard.
The draft law includes provisions relating to the establishment of the endowment, its distributions and conditions, the civil endowment and the supervision of the endowment, its maintenance, architecture and investment.
The Cabinet also took the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of the Companies Law No. 11 of 2015, after reviewing the recommendation of the Shura Council on the law.
The Cabinet approved of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s proposal to form a committee to prepare for Qatar’s participation in the Osaka Expo (Japan - 2025).
The Cabinet reviewed the results of the 107th session of Economic and Social Council of the Arab League, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed on the latest developments to contain the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and affirmed the continuation of implementing the precautionary measures in order to combat this pandemic.
Following the meeting, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda.
