Serge Ferrari Group, which specializes in the design, manufacturing and distribution of high-technology and innovative eco-friendly composite materials has just completed the installation of more than 30,000 square meters of architectural membranes on the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
A world-leading partner for the construction of permanent and temporary venues hosting major international sporting events such as the London and Rio Olympics, the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the UEFA European Championship, the Serge Ferrari Group, once again had the opportunity to prove its ability to meet the architectural challenges associated with these high-profile sports venues.
The innovative composite membranes developed by the group were chosen by the venue’s architects from the early design phase due to their architectural and technical qualities.
Used in the building of several stadiums that will host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, the Serge Ferrari Group has worked diligently to offer the most innovative building solutions.
“We are so proud to have been chosen by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the organisation responsible for delivering the infrastructure required for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, to take part in the construction of several stadiums that will be used for the tournament. Our flexible building materials promise to weather resistance, with their durability consistently tested, while also being watertight and offering natural light” explained Mohammad Bahsh, Manager of Pre-sales Activities in Middle East & Qatar of Serge Ferrari Group.
“It’s the ideal use of material for the design of these stadiums and we are so honoured to mark our footprints in this extraordinary project,” he continued.
The high-grade qualities that make Serge Ferrari Group’s building materials superior include: - The capacity to follow the contours and curves of the roof, which was designed to evoke sand dunes.
The high technical performance that is demonstrated in the dimensional stability, durability, translucency — or even transparency for some products — the UV resistance, and barrier against heat.
Additionally, the membranes are customizable, such as the locally printed display signage with traditional Qatari patterns.
As a trusted partner, the Serge Ferrari Group was also tasked to apply their premium construction methods and materials across several other Qatari stadiums including Al Bayt Stadium, Education City Stadium, Thumama Stadium, and Lusail Stadium.
