Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has dispatched the third batch of humanitarian aid in support of the Lebanese people in the aftermath of the Beirut Harbor explosion.
QRCS’s Lebanon mission cleared and transported the shipment to the Lebanese Red Cross’s warehouses in collaboration with the latter.
The aid will be distributed to those who have been affected as well as hospitals.
The aid included 50 tons of food items to be distributed to some 1,050 families or 5,250 people. In addition, 100 medical beds were delivered to hospitals in the vicinity of the explosion to help them resume their medical services, especially in the midst of the outbreak of COVID-19.
QRCS also sent humanitarian shipments in 2020, with food and medical supplies included. A field relief delegation was dispatched to assist the QRCS mission in distributing aid to the affected people.
The Lebanese Red Cross and the QRCS collaborated to repair the homes that had been damaged by the explosion.
QRCS and Qatar Charity co-launched a joint campaign called Heart for Lebanon, which raised over QR 94 million in donations under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA).
