Ooredoo has announced the conclusion of its Nojoom Points Donation Drive, with a phenomenal 4,085,392 Nojoom Points donated to the Qatar Cancer Society in honor of World Cancer Day 2021.
Ooredoo organised a Donation Drive to encourage Nojoom members to donate their Nojoom Points to the Qatar Cancer Society to help the organisation continue its invaluable work in the communities of Qatar.
The Qatar Cancer Society is actively committed to raising awareness of the disease, educating communities and promoting early detection, as well as supporting cancer patients and their families.
The organisation’s campaign for World Cancer Day 2021 was ‘I am, I will,’ recognizing that each individual’s commitment to action will lead to strong progress in reducing the global impact of cancer, and that action – large or small – will lead to lasting, positive change.
In order to encourage as many Nojoom members as possible to donate their points, Ooredoo has set an ambitious target of a total donation of 2 million Nojoom Points. Members have been able to donate via the Ooredoo App or the Ooredoo website and have been able to track progress towards the target via the dedicated Donation Meter page. The initial target was exceeded long before the end of the Drive, and the organisers were pleased to see it more than doubled by the end of the campaign.
Sabah Rabiah Al-Kuwari, Director PR at Ooredoo, said: “We have a longstanding partnership with Qatar Cancer Society and we were proud to work with the organisation on this charitable initiative. Their work within the community is invaluable, and we’re honoured to be able to support them in any way we can. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our Nojoom members, and we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every member who so generously donated their Nojoom Points to this worthwhile cause, enabling Qatar Cancer Society to continue to help those affected by cancer, their families and our wider communities.”
