His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronised the 14th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony at Doha Sheraton Hotel on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, a number of sheikhs and ministers, and senior state officials.
HH the Amir honoured the 71 winners of the Education Excellence Award, who are Master’s and PhD degree holders, university graduates and outstanding primary, preparatory and secondary school students, in addition to the winners in the categories of outstanding teacher and school.
A film about the 2021 Award and the winners in various categories was screened during the ceremony.
The ceremony also included a speech by Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, and another speech delivered by the student Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain, award winner in the category of Master’s degree, on behalf of the honoured.
HH the Amir also met the award winners and praised the students’ performance and their special efforts despite coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that affected the whole world.
HH the Amir noted the importance of continuing the journey of excellence and acquiring scientific knowledge.
HH the Amir stressed that the state attaches great importance to education for its role in promoting countries and societies, wishing them success in their future life.
For their part, the winners expressed thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir for the opportunity to meet His Highness and honour them, valuing HH the Amir’s continuous support and expressing their thanks for the great potentials provided by the state in
the field of education, while affirming their determination to continue their efforts to achieve
the ambition of the state and society.
