In a positive development in Qatar’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of recoveries from the virus continued to outstrip the new daily infections for the third consecutive day.
Qatar on Tuesday reported 510 recoveries from the virus as against 455 new cases. With this, the total number of recoveries in the country jumped to 151,225.
In a statement, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said all the new cases have been introduced to isolation and are receiving necessary healthcare according to their health status.
It said Qatar succeeded in suppressing the spread of the virus since its peak in July. “However, over the past month in Qatar we have seen a gradual and consistent increase in the number of new daily infections,” the MoPH said, adding that “It is more important than ever that people adhere to preventive measures to prevent the second wave before it gains momentum.”
