Qatar University’s Foundation Programme (FP), under the Deanship of General Studies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), will organise ‘Al-Qabas Programme Virtual 2021’ under the theme ‘To prepare high school students for a successful university experience’.
The student outreach initiative will be held after school hours from March 21 to March 25, 2021 for female high school students and from March 28 to 29, 2021 for male high school students.
The goal of the programme is to raise awareness among Qatari high school students regarding different skills needed to succeed in STEM and medicine fields, such as study skills and test taking strategies. It also aims to prepare students for university life through variety of educational sessions that are offered in English and develop their English and math skills, thereby paving the way for enrolment in STEM colleges and enhancing students’ chances for success in their future colleges.
Al-Qabas Programme also includes orientation sessions about admission and QU student services available.
Following the completion of the programme, students will be awarded certificates of participation.
The programme will launch its second edition during the summer school break in June 2021 in collaboration with MoEHE. A total of 140 female Qatari high school students from grades 10 and 11 participated along
with 24 FP faculty and staff members.
