Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces Dr Nasr Musa Al Hariri in Doha on Monday.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the Syrian issue.
The deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm support for international efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis on the basis of the first Geneva Declaration of 2012 and the relevant Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution No. 2254, in a manner that meets the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people for security, stability and preservation of their territorial integrity.
The deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Dr Ayman Al Safadi.
During the meeting, they reviewed the distinguished and advanced cooperation between the two countries and the means of developing them in all fields, especially in economic and investment sectors, in addition to discussing developments in the region, especially the Palestinian cause and the upcoming Palestinian elections.
The deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and his Jordanian counterpart stressed the importance of achieving Palestinian national reconciliation and uniting the Palestinian ranks. They also stressed their support for Palestinian elections.
The two officials emphasised the need to intensify efforts to resolve crises, achieve security and stability in the region, and activate joint Arab action to confront common challenges.
