The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Department of Protection and Wildlife, has launched field studies on the impact of the decision to ban grazing on green areas for the third season in a row, in cooperation with a number of departments in the ministry.
The field studies will be carried out in 10 areas that have been selected in various regions of the country to conduct vegetation survey studies and monitor the potential effects of grazing, in light of choosing a group of fenced-off areas to compare the state of vegetation in them with those exposed to grazing, as well as exposing one of the areas to grazing camels under the supervision of a work team to study the effects on it compared to other fenced-off areas.
The permanent work team to study the positive and negative impacts of the decision to ban grazing in some areas in the country was formed by Ministerial Resolution No. 381 of 2018.
