Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari on Monday met with UK Minister for International Trade Ranil Jayawardena and the accompanying delegation currently visiting the country.
During the meeting, the ministers touched on the bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed aspects of joint cooperation, especially in the commercial, investment, and industrial fields, as well as ways to enhance and develop them.
The meeting also featured discussions on trade policies between the two countries and the efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, Kuwari highlighted the economic policies that Qatar had adopted and the measures it had taken to abolish
restrictions on foreign investment and create investment opportunities for
companies looking to invest in Qatar.
The volume of trade exchange between Qatar and the UK amounted to nearly $3 billion in 2020, and the United Kingdom ranks as Qatar’s seventh largest trade partner in the world.
