A plane loaded with medical assistance provided by Qatar to aid Sudan’s medical sector arrived at Khartoum airport on Monday.
The medical assistance consignment was received at the airport by Director of Bilateral Relations at the Sudanese Health Ministry Dr Eman Mukhtar, Ambassador of Qatar to Sudan HE Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi and Director of Qatar Charity’s Office in Sudan Engineer Omar Abdul Aziz.
Dr Mukhtar commended Qatar’s support and assistance to her country in the health domain, thanking the government and people of Qatar while describing Sudan-Qatar relations as strong and solid.
For his part, Ambassador Kubaisi said the assistance came within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two countries, pointing to Qatar’s supportive stance to Sudan in the various service and development fields, as well as humanitarian aid field.
Engineer Abdul Aziz said the consignment contains 79 tonnes of medical solutions and is part of continued humanitarian and relief assistance to Sudan, adding that it is also part of ‘Safety for Sudan’ campaign.
He said there will be a second phase of assistance that will cover health and educational fields, among others.
